SMALL TOWN, BIG SOUND

Watertown, Massachusetts is a small town located appx. eight miles from bustling downtown Boston. Not quite in the 'burbs, this town covers four and a half square miles within which lies a diverse and close-knit community with a love for the arts. Our district boasts strong performing and fine arts programs that continue to grow and blossom under a talented and dedicated team of teachers.

The string orchestra program has been a part of the Watertown Public School fine arts program since the early 2000s. We currently offer string instruction to students in grades 4 through 12. Third, fourth, and fifth-grade students participate in weekly lessons, while middle school students have ensemble classes by grade every day. The high school orchestra combines grades 9 - 12 and meets six days out of every seven.

We are supported by a phenomenal staff as well as a wonderful organization called the "Friends of Watertown Music." Click the link to go to their website and find out how you can support the program and advocate for the arts in Watertown!
